Denver Mayor Michael Hancock watched the dancing cops in action at the corners of 6th and North Tryon streets. The cops, now known on YouTube and around Georgia as The Dancing Cops, are from Clayton County Georgia. Led by Sheriff Captain Samuel Smith, the four of them directs traffic at 6th and North Tryon streets in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina today September 6th, 2012. He and three of his deputies were brought in from Clayton County Georgia to do a traffic control detail. They are S.W.A.T team members in Gerogia and decided since they don't usually do traffic details that they would have fun with it. They have become a YouTube sensation being called the Dancing Cops of the Democratic National Convention. Each one of them takes 15 to 30 minute turns at directing traffic. The twist is that they dance, shake, whistle, do push ups and move their bodies as they are doing it much to the amusement of passersby and drivers.
