A bullet struck Yancey Horton in the spine during an attempted robbery in 2004. It left him paralyzed from the waist down. Ten years later, Horton, now 37, said he is determined to walk again. Horton, a New Haven community activist, has been in rehabilitation therapy at Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford since 2004.
